This model brings together the Holy Trinity of Birthcraft, Observation, Discernment, and Action, alongside the deeper forces influencing every clinical moment: fear, instinct, intuition, relational dynamics, environmental pressure, timing, and uncertainty. Woven through the entire framework are the four pillars of skilled midwifery practice: presence, service, curiosity, and humility.

Seeing Beyond the Obvious
Refine your ability to assess birth in a way that moves beyond checklists and protocols alone. You'll strengthen your capacity to read physiology, behaviour, tone, rhythm, emotional atmosphere, and subtle shifts within the birthing space, while also recognising how fear, instinct, and external pressure can shape perception. DISCERNMENT
Clarifying What Matters Most
Learn to navigate the space between instinctive reaction and grounded clinical reasoning. Through The Midwife's Compass, you'll deepen your ability to differentiate between normal variation, true pathology, intuition, fear-based urgency, and the influence of external circumstances. This work sharpens your rationale, strengthens clinical coherence, and helps you recognise when birth needs patience, presence, protection, or decisive movement.

Clean Decisions Under Pressure
Develop the ability to respond with clarity rather than reactivity. You'll learn practical approaches to communication, touch, positioning, and intervention that align with both physiology and complexity. Rather than acting from anxiety, over-thinking, or hesitation, you'll cultivate action that is intentional, timely, and deeply informed by observation and discernment.

This journey is designed as medicine for the overwhelmed birth worker. Our container honors cyclical rhythms, includes spaciousness for integration, and teaches sustainable ways of practicing that prevent burnout rather than contributing to it. You'll learn specific techniques for managing energy and maintaining boundaries while deepening your practice.
Is this only for those who attend homebirths?
The wisdom of birthcraft belongs in every birth space. Whether you practice in homes, birth centers, or hospitals, these principles will transform how you hold space, make decisions, and offer support—regardless of setting. Many hospital-based practitioners find these skills especially valuable for creating physiological birth experiences within institutional settings.
Will there be CEUs or certification?
While Sacred Birthcraft isn't focused on certification, many participants find that its principles enhance every aspect of their practice. We can provide documentation of hours completed for those seeking continuing education units. The skills you gain will complement and enhance your existing credentials. There is approval from Australian and New Zealand Midwifery Councils for elective education CPD.

For 23 years, I've stood at birth's threshold as a homebirth midwife. I've witnessed the dance between worlds as a mother and grandmother. Through my practice, I've woven together the threads of traditional midwifery, Spinning Babies® techniques, biodynamic craniosacral therapy, STREAM scar tissue remediation, and somatic sexology.
But my deepest passion lies in speaking the ancient language of birthcraft so we don't lose it—so that it continues to flow through generations of birth keepers who understand that our work is both practical and sacred, both scientific and mysterious.
