STREAM (Scar Tissue Remediation & Management)

STREAM overview

STREAM is particularly beneficial for addressing afterbirth c-sections, vaginal scars and any post-surgery issues, including recurrent UTIs. The benefits of STREAM can be effective even years after the scar has occurred.

Understanding the impact of c-section scars

Did you know that a c-section scar can have lasting effects on bladder, uterine, bowel position and mobility for years down the track? This can lead to uncomfortable bowel habits, painful lovemaking, and a sense of feeling ‘not quite right’.

Scar tissue from a c-section can hold up the round ligaments, hindering the cervix moving up and out of the way during lovemaking, leading to painful love making over the years.

Vaginal scars and their long-term effects

Scar-related issues, including incontinence, prolapse, and painful sex, are experienced by 87% of women who have given birth.

Vaginal scars can have uncomfortable effects years down the track. They can affect bowel habits, contribute to haemorrhoids, impact pleasure sensations and intimacy, and affect overall comfort and confidence. Vaginal and labial scar tissue may impede blood flow to the area, affecting lubrication and tissue expansion.

Our bodies are resilient and able to integrate and recover from experiences. STREAM creates an opportunity for our body, mind and soul to be held and supported in our integration.

Pelvic health and Its far-reaching impact

Pelvic health significantly influences our overall well-being. Many women approach this area with sensitivity, recognising its profound impact on their lives.

Claire's approach: gentle, informed, and respectful

Claire works gently, prioritising informed choice and consent at the client's pace. She carefully and respectfully explores the pelvis, pelvic floor, vagina and perineal area. She works slowly with reverence, supporting the breath, fascia, muscles, ligaments and tissues to awaken to feeling more comfort.

Applications and benefits

STREAM is particularly beneficial for addressing issues related to sexuality, including painful sex (dyspareunia), vaginismus, as well as issues such as scar tissue, birth trauma, incontinence and prolapse. This approach is effective in addressing challenges arising from birth injuries, as well as obstetric and gynaecological surgeries.

Specialised training and certification

Claire is a trained STREAM (Scar Tissue Remediation, Education and Management) practitioner, through a 1:1 mentorship programme with Ellen Heed.
