Midwifery Care

Midwife Support New Zealand

Claire provides midwifery care to families/whanau choosing to homebirth in the Auckland region.

She is a member of the New Zealand College of Midwives and works within the New Zealand College of Midwives and New Zealand Midwifery Council standards and guidelines.

Claire provides unhurried midwifery care from six weeks gestation until six weeks after the birth. She has a lending library and birthing pool to share for extra support and learning during this time.

Claire is experienced in supporting physiological birth and waterbirth, drawing from her knowledge and experience in bodywork and Spinning Babies® to promote comfort in pregnancy and ease in birth.

Claire’s wish is for birthing women, babies and whanau/family to come through their experience with intact sovereignty. She aims to support this with gentle care, clear communication and supporting the birth giver and family to own their knowledge and power. Claire applies the Spinning Babies® concepts of physiology before force to her midwifery care. She is skilled and experienced at supporting complexities in birth in the home setting.

Encouraging comfort in pregnancy and ease in birth.
